I thought I’d offer up an explanation of what this tumblr will contain before I started sharing this project, so here it goes.

My name is Michael L. Foo. I currently live in Savannah, GA where I work as a Director for WJCL and FOX28, and I love photography. Especially vintage photography.

A few months ago, while moving away from home, I stumbled across a curious looking box. Upon inspection, I found that the box had belonged to my grandfather, Glenn W. Marshall. It contained a Kodak Carousel Projector along with several carousels filled with slides; snapshots from my grandfather and glimpses of things that he witnessed through the many years before me.

It occurred to me that I might be able to continue in his footsteps and add my own slides to the carousels, featuring my own glimpses of the world and what it holds.

And so, this project sets out to introduce two frames at a time, and to tell a story of both past and present. For now, the stories will merely be my grandfather’s and mine own, but who knows? Perhaps there may be others who will share in my endeavor and will submit a few frames of their own?
